Per Diem/PRN Med Surg RN Job Description
North Mississippi Health Services is seeking a per diem/prn nurse RN Med Surg for a challenging and rewarding nursing job in Eupora, Mississippi.

Clinical Practice:
- Utilize the nursing process to provide safe, quality patient care and document accordingly.
- Ensure compliance with all NMHS policies and requirements as directed by the Nurse Manager and Educator.
Education:
- Provide patient/family education and act as a resource for existing staff and new employees.
- Participate in the Preceptor class to ensure proper training of new employees.
Communication:
- Maintain communication with multidisciplinary team members to provide holistic care to the patient.
- Attend daily huddles on each unit to ensure proper assignments and identify team members for the shift.
Customer Relations:
- Project a caring, friendly, and helpful image to patients and other customers.
- Utilize the patients' communication board (whiteboard) to keep them informed about their care.
Self-Development:
- Maintain competency by staying informed of changing trends in nursing practice.
- Attend annual reviews and unit-specific training within the department.
- Complete required continuing education hours online and in-classroom.
Regulatory Knowledge:
- Comply with regulatory and accrediting agency requirements.
- Hold current licensure to practice as a RN in the state of MS.
- Complete RN orientation and approved unit-specific checklist.
- Maintain AHA CPR certification and any additional certifications as required by the department.
