Job Description Patient Care: Promotes and maintains health by providing medical services under the supervision of a Physician Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventative health care services in accordance with Mississippi State Board of Medical Licensure (MSBML), approved protocols, and national standards of practice Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans Patient Education: Provides instruction and counsel regarding medical care matters to patient/family member Serves as a resource for community agencies as needed Recordkeeping: Ensures timely and accurate (as established by policy) documentation of patient status and patient care activities including treatments, procedures, and medications prescribed Continuing Education: Ensures clinical competence by staying abreast of changes in medical management Maintains board certification Completes annual CME required programs Participates in a variety of healthcare education activities Regulatory: Adheres to NMHS/NMMC Policies/Procedures/Guidelines Complies with applicable State/Federal/Regulatory Policies/Procedures/Guidelines/Laws Requirements: Master’s Degree in health-related or science field; required Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program; required Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA); required Licensed by the Mississippi State Board of Medical Licensure as a Physician Assistant; required Certified by the American Heart Association (AHA) in CPR; required Excellent problem-solving, organizational and communication (written and verbal)skills;
