**JOB SUMMARY** The Physician Assistant at North Mississippi Health Services is responsible for delivering comprehensive medical services under physician supervision, focusing on patient care, education, and recordkeeping. The position requires expertise in diagnostic and therapeutic healthcare services, ensuring continuity of care through patient management plans. The Physician Assistant must demonstrate clinical competence, adhere to regulatory guidelines, and effectively communicate complex medical information to patients, family members, and healthcare staff, while maintaining a professional and caring attitude. **JOB** **FUNCTIONS** Patient Care: * Promotes and maintains health by providing medical services under the supervision of a Physician. * Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventative health care services in accordance with Mississippi State Board of Medical Licensure (MSBML), approved protocols, and national standards of practice. * Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans. Patient Education: * Provides instruction and counsel regarding medical care matters and issues to patient/family member. * Serves as a resource for community agencies, as needed. Recordkeeping: * Ensures timely and accurate (as established by policy) system documentation of patient status and patient care activities including treatments, procedures, and medications prescribed. Continuing Education: * Ensures clinical competence by staying abreast of changes in medical management. * Maintains board certification. * Completes annual CME required programs. * Participates in a variety of healthcare education activities.
