Responsibilities:
1. Patient Support: * Serve as the primary point of contact for patients receiving biologic treatments, providing education, guidance, and emotional support throughout their treatment journey. * Conduct initial assessments to understand patients' medical history, treatment goals, and support needs. * Provide information about biologic medications, including administration, potential side effects, and adherence strategies.
2. Treatment Coordination: * Coordinate with healthcare providers to schedule appointments, laboratory tests, and other necessary services related to biologic treatments. * Facilitate communication between patients, healthcare providers, and specialty pharmacies to ensure timely delivery and administration of medications. * Monitor patients' adherence to treatment plans and follow up on missed appointments or medication refills.
3. Patient Advocacy: * Advocate for patients' needs and rights, including access to affordable medications, insurance coverage, and support services. * Assist patients in navigating insurance claims and reimbursement processes, including prior authorizations and appeals if necessary. * Collaborate with pharmaceutical companies to explore financial assistance programs and patient support services.
4. Education and Outreach: * Conduct educational sessions and workshops for patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers to increase awareness and understanding of biologic treatments. * Develop educational materials, including brochures, newsletters, and online resources, to support patient education efforts. * Participate in community outreach initiatives to raise awareness about biologic therapies and available resources.
5. Documentation and Reporting: * Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient interactions, treatment plans, and outcomes in compliance with healthcare regulations and privacy standards. * Generate reports and analyze data related to patient outcomes, medication adherence, and program effectiveness. * Collaborate with internal teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and quality assurance
Experience (Preferred):
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, insurance practices, and reimbursement processes related to biologic treatments.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems, patient management software, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
