Under the direction of an Instructional Administrator, a Regional Occupational Program (ROP) instructor provides instruction to secondary school students in competency-based, career technical education courses in order to prepare them for college and career. ROP classes are taught by instructors who have trained and worked in the industry they are teaching. Once hired, instructors must enter a teacher credential program and ROP provides additional training and coaching support. Many ROP classes provide real-world experience by placing students in work-based learning. Please refer to the instructor's job description for specific responsibilities, knowledge, skills, abilities, and requirements. • Three (3) years of industry work experience directly related to the Patient Care - Sports Medicine pathway (for Credential eligibility).
• High School Diploma or Equivalent is REQUIRED.
• Teaching Credential: The successful candidate must qualify for or possess a California Career Technical Education (CTE) or Designated Subjects Teaching Credential: Health Science & Medical Technology. NOCROP will assist you in starting the credentialing process. North Orange County ROP will review the applications submitted to select those candidates who appear to possess the most extensive and relevant experience or abilities for the position. Not every candidate who meets the minimum qualifications is interviewed. It is, therefore, important to ensure your application is thorough, detailed, and clear.
