Summary: As a Banquet Captain, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless preparation and execution of banquet events. You'll lead and inspire our banquet staff, ensuring that every event is a success and our guests leave with a smile.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead the Team: Coordinate and oversee the banquet staff during food and beverage service.
• Support Management: Assist in the operation of the banquet department.
• Plan for Success: Review banquet event orders and prepare rooms for daily functions.
• Execute Flawlessly: Prioritize the needs of each event to ensure it runs smoothly.
• Maintain Excellence: Keep food and beverage items stocked and service times punctual.
• Ensure Safety: Report any equipment issues or unsafe conditions.
• Wrap Up Right: Perform opening and closing procedures, ensuring everything is secure at the end of events.
• Customer Care: Prepare and present bills to customers, addressing any questions or concerns with professionalism.
• Efficient Staffing: Schedule staff for banquet functions and help control labor costs.

Qualifications:

• Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED; one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Communication Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and speak effectively before groups.
• Math Skills: Ability to perform basic math operations and interpret graphs.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
• Tech Savvy: Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software.
• Certifications: Current food handler card and liquor service permit.

Physical Demands: Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach with arms, and talk or hear. Occasionally required to lift/move up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
