Reports to: Executive Pastry Chef
Job Summary (Essential Functions)
The Assistant Pastry Cook supports the Executive Pastry Chef in preparing all baked goods according to club recipes and standards. This position plays a key role in maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and efficiency of the bakery station.
Job Tasks/Duties
- Assists in the preparation of baked goods including breads, pastries, and desserts
- Opens the bakery, lights ovens (if needed), and turns on the proof box
- Pulls necessary ingredients and ensures they are at room temperature when needed
- Follows portion control and presentation standards
- Maintains and breaks down the pastry station at the end of each shift
- Cleans and sanitizes workstations and storage areas
- Requisitions supplies as needed and notifies the Executive Pastry Chef of potential product shortages
- Adheres to club recipes and high sanitary standards
- Covers, dates, and stores all reusable leftovers neatly
- Maintains a professional appearance and practices proper personal hygiene
- Assumes scheduling responsibilities in the Executive Pastry Chef’s absence
- Performs other duties as assigned

Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch, and twist or reach

- Work in hot, humid, and noisy environments
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
- Previous experience in a bakery or kitchen preferred but not required
- Culinary or pastry school background a plus
Salary : $21 - $22
