Director of Nursing

Job Summary
The Director of Nursing (DON) is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing the nursing staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. This position involves managing nursing operations, developing care plans, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. The DON will collaborate with other healthcare professionals to enhance patient outcomes and promote a culture of excellence within the organization.

Duties

• Lead and manage the nursing department, ensuring effective staffing and scheduling.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for patients.
• Oversee the maintenance of accurate medical records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Conduct regular assessments of patient care practices and outcomes to identify areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
• Provide guidance and support to nursing staff, fostering professional development and adherence to best practices.
• Ensure that all nursing activities comply with state regulations and organizational policies.
• Manage the Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments and ensure accurate documentation.
• Stay updated on advancements in acute care, hospice care, and nursing management practices.

Skills

• Extensive knowledge and experience with State and Federal Regulation for skilled nursing facilities, care principles and practices.
• Proficiency in developing effective care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
• Strong understanding of medical records management and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent nurse management skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team.
• In-depth knowledge of physiology as it relates to patient care.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with healthcare professionals, patients, and families.
• Experience in hospice care is preferred but not required.

This role is essential for ensuring that our nursing team delivers compassionate, high-quality care while adhering to best practices in healthcare.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $99,050.00 - $103,049.00 per year
