Job Summary
The Director of Nursing (DON) is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing the nursing staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. Duties
- Lead and manage the nursing department, ensuring effective staffing and scheduling.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for patients.
- Oversee the maintenance of accurate medical records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Conduct regular assessments of patient care practices and outcomes to identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Provide guidance and support to nursing staff, fostering professional development and adherence to best practices.
- Ensure that all nursing activities comply with state regulations and organizational policies.
- Manage the Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments and ensure accurate documentation.
- Stay updated on advancements in acute care, hospice care, and nursing management practices.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge and experience with State and Federal Regulation for skilled nursing facilities, care principles and practices.
- Proficiency in developing effective care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Strong understanding of medical records management and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent nurse management skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team.
- In-depth knowledge of physiology as it relates to patient care.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with healthcare professionals, patients, and families.
- Experience in hospice care is preferred but not required.

Pay: $99,050.00 - $103,049.00 per year
