General Description
Forklift Operators report directly to Distribution Supervisors and move material and product as directed.
Primary Duties
Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent and at least 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with safe work practices, and procedures.

Primary Duties
- Perform daily inspection.
- Immediately report all deficiencies found and unusual noises and/or difficulties in operation of the equipment.
- Identify material to be placed into production, verifying correct tag and heat numbers. Determine weight of material and utilize forklift with the appropriate capacity.
- Properly secure material on forklift before moving material.
- Always be aware of activity/co-workers in the area to insure a safe workplace. Advise all co-workers in the area before movement of material on overhead crane.
- Follow all company policy procedures and be vigilant in watching for potential risks in the area and notify management of deficiencies identified.
- Attend all training and safety meetings as directed.
- Assist with stock checks and physical counts as directed.
- Perform other tasks as directed.
- Assist in training co-workers as requested.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Knowledge of crane capacities, accessory equipment, rigging and ability to move large sized and/or unusually shaped steel plate in a safe manner.
- Ability to calculate weights of material.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
