Job Summary
North Shore Synagogue (Syosset, NY) is seeking a full time (or part time) Office Administrative Assistant. A successful candidate is very organized, is able to use judgment in prioritizing demands, must keep all office matters confidential, and is expected to maintain a high level of decorum. This person will work closely with the Executive Director, Administrative Staff, Clergy, and Lay Leadership.
Office Administrative Assistant responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide administrative support to Executive Director, clergy, professional staff, and lay leadership.
- Answer and screen phone calls
- General correspondence
- Schedule appointments for clergy
- Maintain filings systems
- Prepare monthly/weekly mailings
- Send acknowledgement letters
- Manage weekly yahrzeit list
- Schedule tutoring sessions for B’nai Mitzvah families
- Responsible for creating weekly Order of Service
- Create flyers
- Promote all upcoming events and programs
- Assisting with in-office projects and Synagogue wide programs

Qualifications:
- Experience working in an office setting
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Publisher, and Google Suite
- Knowledge of ShulCloud and iContact preferred but not required
- Temple experience a plus
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $38,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
