Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Telecom Drilling Equipment Operator to join our team in the Yreka / Fort Jones, CA area. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for operating various drilling equipment on job sites.
As a Telecom Drilling Equipment Operator, you will be part of a dynamic team that is united in our vision of connecting America. The successful candidate will have a valid standard Driver's License or a Class A Commercial Driver's License with tanker endorsement, and an MVR record that is deemed acceptable by the company. You will also be able to maintain a safe work environment, work in all weather conditions, lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as needed with or without assistance, and work overtime, after hours, on weekends, for emergencies or on-call.
Job Description
- You will safely operate drill equipment on jobsites, including but not limited to Directional Drill, Backhoe / Excavator, Skid Steer, Tractor Trailer (Moving Equipment / Haul Water), Vacuum Truck/Trailer.
- You will restore and/or landscape disturbed areas of the jobsite.
- You will develop and maintain a bore schedule.
- You will be responsible for the site set-up and clean-up.
- You will load and unload tools, materials and equipment on truck.
- You will be involved in new site Job Safety Analysis JSA prior to starting construction.
- You will set up safety perimeter using signage, cones and safety barriers and at times flagging traffic.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- You are at least 18 years old.
- You are authorized to work in the United States for this company.
- You have experience with drilling equipment and understand their capabilities and limitations.
- You are able to proficiently use locators to safely identify utilities.
- You may have experience with drill set up and design processes.
- You may be able to read and understand work orders, safety rules and operating instructions.
- You are able to climb up and down ladders, machinery, and other objects.
- Specific vision abilities required to perform this job include but are not limited to: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus potentially near and/or far as needed.
