Job Overview:
North Smithfield Auto Body Inc. is a rapidly growing company, and we are looking to hire an additional Automotive Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and painting vehicles to meet manufacturer standards or customer specifications. This role requires an eye for detail, a commitment to quality, and proficiency with various painting tools and techniques. The Automotive Painter will work closely with the body shop team to ensure timely completion of vehicle restoration or repair projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare vehicles for painting by sanding, masking, priming, and taping.
- Mix and match paint colors to ensure a seamless color match.
- Apply primer and paint coats using spray guns or other tools.
- Repair and refinish damaged vehicle body parts to restore the original appearance.
- Inspect painted vehicles for color accuracy, quality, and finish, performing touch-ups when necessary.
- Clean and maintain painting tools and equipment.
- Follow all safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with other team members such as body shop technicians and detailers.
- Keep the work area clean and organized, following proper disposal of hazardous materials.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on jobs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED; formal training or certification in automotive painting preferred.
- Proven experience as an automotive painter, preferably in a collision repair or body shop setting.
- Familiarity with different types of paints, coatings, and application techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Physical stamina to stand, crouch, and lift heavy equipment or materials.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations in automotive refinishing.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a team.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods.
- Exposure to paint fumes and other chemicals (proper safety gear provided).

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
