Job Summary:
The Retention Coordination Specialist is responsible for analyzing soldier retention trends, implementing retention strategies, and supporting the GAARNG leadership in reducing attrition and improving personnel readiness. This role involves training career counselors, conducting retention briefings, and overseeing personnel retention programs.Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze retention and attrition trends for over 11,000 personnel, submitting quarterly reports to leadership.
- Brief The Adjutant General, Commanding General, and G1 leadership on GAARNG personnel readiness.
- Provide written recommendations for attrition management strategies, ensuring submission semi-annually.
- Oversee and process all transfers to the Inactive National Guard (ING) within 10 business days of request.
- Develop and conduct semi-annual training sessions for over 150 career counselors on best practices for retention.
- Monitor end-strength and NO-VAL reports, ensuring compliance with National Guard Bureau (NGB) standards.
- Manage access to the Director’s Personnel Readiness Overview (DPRO) for all relevant personnel.
- Conduct actuarial analyses and statistical assessments to predict retention risks and provide solutions.
- Work with state Incentive Managers (IMs) to align retention strategies with ARNG goals.
- Coordinate with recruiters and Retention Management Software (RMS) users to ensure 100% uptime and accurate data tracking.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, or Organizational Management (preferred).
- 3 years of experience in military recruiting, retention, or personnel operations.
- Strong knowledge of ARNG retention policies, career counseling, and data analysis.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and strategic planning skills.
- Experience with DPRO, GIMS, RMS, and other personnel tracking databases.
