Secondary Summer School Coordinator (24-25)

Position: Secondary Summer School Building Coordinator
Location: John Glenn Middle School
Work Schedule: 7:15 am - 2:00pm Monday-Thursday - up to 10 hours per week until summer programming starts, 6.75 hours per day during Summer Programming
Program Dates: June 16 July 24 (No school on June 19 or the week of June 30-July 4
Start Date: June 2025

Pay and Benefits: The hourly pay of $40.48 and benefits are in accordance with the teacher labor agreement

Purpose of Program:

• To provide ISD 622 students (grades 8 -12) with the opportunity to recover course credits required for graduation through Credit Recovery and Bridge to High School Porgram

Student Population:

• For students in grades 9-12 Credit Recovery and students in 8th Bridge to High School who are at risk of not graduating on time.

Student Schedule:

• Credit Recovery runs 4 days/wk in person (7:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m.)
• Brige to High School runs 4 days/wk in person (7:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m.)

Required Qualifications:

• Valid Secondary MN teaching license and/or 7-12 Secondary Guidance and Counseling or K-12 School Counselor license
• Minimum of one year successful teaching experience.
• Experience in planning, implementing, and analyzing formative and sumative assessments.
• Experience in planning and facilitating various professional learning activities.
• Ability to demonstrate, model and coach effective research-based instructional strategies.
• Excellent interpersonal/communication/collaboration skills.
• Ability to work with teachers individually in different content areas.

Responsibilities:

• Coordination and prep of summer programming tasks leading up to and during time of programming
• Day-to-day operations involving both Credit Recovery and the Bridge to HS program
• Staff supervision
• Student supervision
• Student discipline
• Busing logistics
• Meal prep and distribution
• Health services
• Staff communication
• Student communication
• Parent/guardian communication
• Coordinate crisis response
• Coordinate with building Admins related to students issues/parent concerns, etc.
• Coordinate emergency drills (look at bridge and credit)
• Provide administrative support to the Targeted Services Team
• Other duties as assigned
