OVERVIEW : The Computer Technician is responsible for supporting the technological needs of Grafton Public Schools, working within the technology department. Key areas of focus include network technologies, Active Directory administration, macOS and desktop computer deployment / maintenance, and print services. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES : - Audio / visual - Responsible for the operation and maintenance of all audio-visual equipment, services, and general staff use. This includes projectors, flat panel displays, and related applications. - Desktop Computers - Manages the lifecycle of approximately 500 desktop computers, 500 Macs, including setup, deployment, maintenance, and support for computer labs, classrooms, faculty, and staff. - General Networking - Contributes to the stability and performance of the network infrastructure by collaborating with the network engineer and support team to maintain and manage servers, switches, and cabling. - Support Tickets - Monitors the district's HelpDesk system, self-assigning trouble tickets in the primary areas of focus, and resolving tickets in a timely manner. - Cross-Functional Support - Works collaboratively with other department members supporting faculty and staff with various applications (i.e. Google Apps, PowerSchool, Schoology, Clever, etc.) and supporting a variety of devices (i.e. desktops, laptops, Chromebooks, iPads, copiers, phones, projectors, displays, wireless access points, etc.) as needed. - Other - Participates in special projects that fall within the scope of technology services as assigned. Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities required or as assigned by the Technology Coordinator Proactively seeks opportunities to contribute to the technology department and performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology. EVALUATION : Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the Technology Coordinator TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT : 12 Months
