Salary : $16.50 - $21.30 / Hour
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION :
Provides safe transportation services to clients of North Valley Services.
PRIMARY SCHEDULE :
Monday Friday split shift (6 : 00am 10 : 00am, and 1 : 30pm -5 : 30pm). Days and hours may vary and include evenings, Holidays, and weekends as needed.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED :
Works under the supervision of the Transportation Services Program Manager.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED :
Is responsible to supervise individuals with developmental disabilities while using NVS transportation services.
QUALIFICATIONS :
High school education or equivalent.
Current California drivers license, with an acceptable DMV printout and insurability, minimum of a 3-year driving history.
Be at least 21 years of age to meet insurance standards.
Currently possess, or have the ability to obtain, a California commercial drivers license with a passenger endorsement.
Currently possess or have the ability to obtain a Vehicle Developmental Disabled Passenger (VDDP) certificate.
Ability to pass a DOJ criminal background check.
Ability to pass CPR and First Aid course.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Follows all procedures, policies, and guidelines of North Valley Services.
Provides safe transportation to individuals to and from NVS programs, sites and / or activities.
Collaborates and works efficiently with others.
Ensures that assigned vehicles are in proper working order by completing daily inspection sheets and reporting any deficiencies.
Completes basic maintenance duties when required.
Abides by CHP and DOT compliance guidelines.
Assists individuals on and off the vehicle as needed.
Assists with transportation of clients, including wheelchair assistance and securing wheelchairs on buses.
Assists filling in at other programs and / or departments as needed.
Additional duties as assigned including, filling in at other sites or departments as needed.
PHYSICAL DUTIES :
Ability to perform duties including bending, pushing, lifting, stooping and climbing.
May have prolonged sitting.
May have prolonged driving.
Ability to reach overhead.
May lift up to 30 pounds and assist in lifting clients.

Effectiveness in performing the duties and responsibilities as described above.
Ability to function as a part of the team.
