North Water District Laboratory Services (NWDLS) is currently searching for a Sample Receiving Clerk.
The training schedule for this role is Monday-Friday from 8 : 00 A.M. to 5 : 00 P.M. with a 1 hour scheduled lunch period. After training is complete, the schedule will be Monday-Friday from 9 : 00 A.M. to 6 : 00 P.M. with a 1 hour scheduled lunch period. Additionally, this role will be required to work 1 Saturday per month, from 9 A.M. to 4 P.M. Overtime work may occasionally be required.

Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent.
What the Shipping Receiving Clerk is responsible for :
Receive and process samples while inspecting proper containers, temperatures, preservatives, etc.Providing an accurate and completed chain of custody, record of any sample in your possession.Responsible for evaluating sample receipt compliance against appropriate methods and documenting any deviations.Responsible for distributing samples to appropriate storage locations and disposing of expired samples, as necessary.Shipping samples to other laboratories or clients.Work directly with the Department Supervisor and Manager to ensure accurate, timely, and complete processing of all samples.Convey any client requests or concerns to the Main Office.Utilize LIMS (Promium Element) functions to log and receive all samples, generate queries to monitor and prioritize sample processing, and other tasks as needed.Responsible for general housekeeping in his / her work area including maintaining supplies.A successful Sample Receiving Technician at NWDLS will :
Have utilized technology in prior roles or possesses a willingness to learn new software programs for data entry tasks.Be skilled in professional verbal and written communication, as well as have prior experience operating in an environment that requires multi-tasking.Understand the importance of providing excellent customer service.Place a high level of emphasis on attention to detail.Other position specific requirements :
Vision sufficient to read and interpret chemical and reagent labels, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, laws, spreadsheets, computer screens and print outs, business correspondence, and other documents encountered in the course of work.Hearing sufficient to hear conversation levels in person and telephone.Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in front of groups, over the telephone, in meetings, and training sessions.Mobility sufficient to safely move in an environmental laboratory.Dexterity sufficient to safely operate office equipment including computers and specialized tools and equipment utilized in the course of work.Strength sufficient to safely lift and carry sample containers, office supplies, materials, equipment, and other related materials weighing up to 40 pounds.Endurance sufficient to stand and bend from the waist for longs periods up to 100% of an 8 hour day.Why join the NWDLS team?
