Role Description
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for the acquisition of goods and subcontract services as required.
Responsibilities
- Solicit quotations for raw material, goods and services and ensuring that quotations comply with North Wind Systems’ Terms and Conditions
- Issue purchase orders to procure raw material, goods and services in accordance with purchasing policies and procedures and per contract specified terms and conditions. Ensure purchase orders are placed in a timely manner and adhere to deliverables stated on the request. Work with Program Management to negate any issues that arise at the RFQ/Purchase order phase
- Monitor active purchase orders to ensure compliance with cost and delivery performance. Administrate vendor issues and provide solutions to the team to mitigate risk.
- Recommend alternative raw material or hardware as appropriate to achieve improved cost and schedule
- Assess supplier quotations and conduct negotiations with suppliers on price and delivery schedule as necessary to ensure on dock dates are met
Qualifications
Preferred Education / Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline;
- 5 years of related discipline;
- A combination of education and experience equivalent to above
Preferred Knowledge / Ability
- Working knowledge of ERP systems
- High proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
- Outstanding communication skills
- Thrive in fast paced environment with ability to reprioritize as needed
- Data collection & analysis techniques
- Ability to apply generally accepted business principles
