Northampton Area Pediatrics is a growing practice seeking an experienced Controller to oversee accounting functions and ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
Job Summary: The role of the Controller is to oversee all aspects of NAP's accounting operations, including budgeting, financial reporting, cash management, 401(k) plan, payroll, accounts payable/receivable. The Controller ensures compliance with state and federal requirements, accounting regulations, and tax code. The Controller coordinates with external accounting resources and analyzes financial data to advise leadership on key business decisions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update Sage 50 accounting software, ensuring timely and accurate journal entries and revenue postings.
- Oversee cash management, including preparing monthly bank reconciliations and ensuring cash requirements are met.
- Prepare monthly/quarterly financial statements and operational reports, including partner compensation calculations.
- Manage tax filings and ensure compliance, including personal property tax returns, sales and use tax, and Form 990.
- Lead year-end accounting processes, including bonus projections, 401(k) census preparation, and recording adjustments based on CPA feedback.
- Prepare annual budget and financial forecasts, identifying cost-saving opportunities and monitoring for budget variances.
- Complete monthly reports on provider productivity, accounts receivable, and other key metrics.
- Maintain internal financial controls and systems, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws and minimizing risk.
- Support professional growth, stay updated on industry changes, and contribute to management team discussions.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum four years of related experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Ability to multi-task priorities maintaining quality and efficiency, in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
