Summary: Under the general supervision of the Registrar, the part-time Graduation Specialist oversees the critical functions related to student graduation processes within the Office of Records & Registration. This role ensures accurate, timely degree conferrals, and supports institutional excellence by maintaining high standards in graduation records management and communication.
Key Responsibilities:
Graduation Application Review: Evaluate student graduation applications to verify eligibility for degree conferral and institutional honors.
Coordination and Communication: Collaborate with academic departments, faculty, and students to process graduation-related requests, including overrides and course substitutions.
Communication Management: Implement and manage the comprehensive communication plan for all graduation-related communications.
Commencement Participation: Actively contribute as a member of the Commencement Planning Committee, ensuring successful graduation ceremonies.
Diploma Processing: Oversee the production, verification, and delivery of diplomas.
Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date graduation records and generate reports related to enrollment and degree conferrals.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in higher education
Preferred Competencies:
Experience interpreting degree audits/assessing student's completion of degree requirements
Experience in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and student populations
Skill in interpreting, applying, and communicating institutional policies and procedures
Strong technological proficiency, especially in student records systems
Effective planning, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities
Demonstrated customer service orientation
Excellent written and oral communication skills
