Flooring Distribution Operations Manager

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized, strategic, and results-driven Distribution Operations Manager to lead our flooring distribution center operations. This role is critical to ensuring efficient logistics, inventory accuracy, timely order fulfillment, and superior customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, supply chain expertise, and a deep understanding of the flooring industry’s operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the distribution center, including receiving, inventory management, order picking, packing, shipping, and returns.

• Develop and implement operational policies and best practices to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.

• Manage and optimize warehouse layout and product storage to improve workflow and reduce handling time.

• Monitor KPIs (e.g., OTIF, inventory accuracy, freight cost, order cycle time) and drive continuous improvements.

• Collaborate with sales, procurement, and customer service teams to ensure alignment between supply and demand.

• Supervise, train, and mentor warehouse staff, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and performance.

• Ensure compliance with safety standards, OSHA regulations, and company policies.

• Coordinate with freight carriers and manage inbound/outbound logistics to meet delivery deadlines.

• Implement warehouse management systems (WMS) or ERP enhancements as needed.

• Resolve operational issues quickly to minimize disruption to customer service.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

• 5 years of experience in warehouse or distribution management, preferably in flooring, building materials, or home improvement industries.

• Strong leadership skills with experience managing diverse teams in a fast-paced environment.

• Proven track record of improving operational processes and delivering measurable results.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

• Proficiency in WMS/ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
