What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Manager position at Northbay Recruiter?
The Accounting Manager will be an active leader within the accounting department and be responsible for overseeing accounting compliance. This position will take lead on complex accounting issues, ensuring compliance with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP), and provide guidance on financial reporting matters. Reporting to the Controller, this role take part in overseeing the accounting close cycles and provide supervision to staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
- Ensure the accuracy of financial statements, reconciliations, and general ledger.
- Review balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure proper application of revenue recognition and lease accounting
- Ensure the application of GAAP accounting standards and stay updated on new regulations and advise the company on necessary adjustments.
- Develop and implement internal accounting policies and procedures.
- Support external audits by providing accounting explanations and documentation.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting in addition to 5-7 years minimum progressive accounting experience.
- Public accounting foundation (audit) within a regional sized firm or larger; CPA preferred but not required.
- 1-2 years supervisory experience preferred, ideally within a mid-sized company environment
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP coupled with excellent research, analytical, and communication skills.
- Strong technical skills including large scale ERP systems, reporting tools advanced Excel.
Compensation:
Base salary range for this position is $125-140k, depending on experience. Benefits offered are: Medical, Dental, Vision, unlimited PTO, bonus incentives and retirement plan. This position is being offered as hybrid after training; applicants must be within commute range to the Vacaville area. Days in/out of office may change based on department needs and workload demands.
