Assistant Controller

We are seeking a wine-industry accounting professional with progressive track record to step into the position of Assistant Controller for a growing wine collection in the Napa Valley. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of winery accounting and the ability to maintain financial integrity of the GL, inventory, and COGS. As a forward thinker, the Assistant Controller will be instrumental in identifying areas of improvement and making recommendations to senior leadership. An understanding of systems and ability to lead implementations is also critical for the success of this position.

Duties

• Oversee the accounting functions & GL maintenance for multiple entities.
• Manage month end close process, prepare and review financial statements for accuracy
• Conduct detailed analysis of accounts to identify variances, trends, and key indicators
• Perform account & GL reconciliations, book accruals and prepaid expenses.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
• Analyze financial data and build custom reporting tools as needed to support forward planning initiatives.

Requirements :

Salary : 125,000-140,000 depending on experience
