What are the responsibilities and job description for the Revenue Analyst position at Northbay Recruiter?
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Revenue Analyst to manage and oversee revenue recognition processes and ensure compliance with accounting standards. This position will also be hands on in supporting with customer billing, revenue analysis and financial reporting. The ideal candidate has a strong background in accounting principles, financial reporting and analysis, as well as revenue management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze contracts, invoices, and financial transactions related to revenue recognition.
- Reconcile revenue accounts and investigate discrepancies to ensure accuracy.
- Ensure accurate and timely recognition of revenue in compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Work closely with the billing, finance, and sales teams to streamline revenue processes.
- Prepare revenue-related journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including revenue reporting.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Identify and implement process improvements for revenue accounting operations.
- Work in close partnership with accounting team to monitor deferred revenue, accounts receivable, and unbilled revenue.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies.
- Analyze revenue trends, sales data, and work closely with FP&A team to identify opportunities for growth.
- Develop revenue forecasts and financial models based on historical performance and market trends.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to revenue, profitability, and customer behavior.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 4 years of experience in revenue accounting, general accounting, or financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, or similar ERP systems).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
This position is being offered as salaried and full-time, at an average of 40 hours a week. Work times may fluctuate based seasonality, workload, reporting deadlines and additional tasks assigned. Hybrid flexibility will be offered after training period with a minimum of 3 days required in office, on an ongoing basis.
A competitive salary range of $100,000-110,000k is being offered dependent on experience.
