Summer Analyst Program Overview
Northborne’s Investment Banking Summer Analyst Program is designed for students interested in pursuing a career in investment banking and provides hands-on experience in the role of an Investment Banking Analyst. The program includes training, mentorship opportunities, social events and a summer project that provide an invaluable look into our culture and the investment banking business. Our Summer Analysts receive broad exposure to all aspects of M&A transactions, from the initial pitch to closing, and on-the-job training to develop the experience, knowledge and skills that enable them to become successful Investment Banking Analysts. Summer Analysts at Northborne become important members of our deal teams and interact closely with our investment banking professionals, from Analysts to Managing Directors. The program is a pipeline for our full-time Analyst positions and offers potential to return upon graduation to start your investment banking career.
Responsibilities
The program will provide Summer Analysts with an in-depth understanding of the daily responsibilities of a full-time Investment Banking Analyst at Northborne. Interns will assume significant responsibilities that include but are not limited to the following:
- Supporting deal teams in the preparation of pitch and marketing presentations
- Preparing, analyzing, and explaining historical and projected financial information
- Assisting in the preparation of financial models and business valuations
- Conducting industry and company-specific research and due diligence
- Identifying potential strategic and financial (e.g., private equity) buyers for our clients
- Supporting the due diligence process of buyers, including managing online data rooms
- Developing an in-depth understanding of the M&A transaction process
Qualifications
Summer Analyst candidates should possess a strong interest in finance, excellent academic records, and a commitment to extracurricular endeavors. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Pursuing an undergraduate degree with an anticipated graduation date between Dec 2026 – May 2027
- Strong analytical, quantitative, problem solving and conceptual skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with impeccable attention to detail
- Excellent writing, verbal communication and computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Knowledge of general accounting, finance and valuation principles
- Experience with financial modeling and analysis preferred
- Desire to join a rapidly growing, entrepreneurial platform
- Ability and desire to work in a fast paced and intellectually challenging environment
- Candidates must be able to work well under pressure, handle multiple projects at once and learn quickly
