About Us:
At NorthBridge College Success Program, we are on a mission to empower students with learning differences to thrive as they pursue higher education and vocational opportunities. Our program equips students with the skills, tools, and guidance necessary to conquer learning challenges and ensure their academic success. We work with a diverse range of learners enrolled in community colleges, four-year universities, technical schools, and vocational programs.
The mission of NorthBridge is to provide support, resources, and guidance to students with learning differences as they transition to, persist, and succeed in their educational and vocational endeavors. These learning differences include dyslexia, ADHD, the Autism spectrum (ASD), non-verbal disorder (NVLD), sensory processing disorder (SPD), hearing and vision loss, anxiety, depression, and many other differences.
Position: Academic Coach in Flagstaff
Your Role:
Qualifications: As an Academic Coach at NorthBridge, you will play a pivotal role in directly supporting our students. You will help them develop both academic and personal skills, ensuring they have the resources they need to excel.

Essential:
- Bachelor's degree in Education and/or current graduate student in College of Education.
- Must have lesson-planning knowledge.
- A deep understanding of NorthBridge's mission and an unwavering commitment to our students' success.
- High personal integrity and reliability.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
- Experience in tutoring and mentoring students
- Active Fingerprint Clearance Card
Preferred:
- Experience in tutoring students with learning disabilities, ideally in a post-secondary setting.
- Experience assisting new students with college orientation and career exploration.
- Skill in coaching and managing adults, highlighting your leadership capabilities.
- Knowledge in College Math and Sciences
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular in-person meetings with students, providing essential guidance and support.
- Offer direct assistance with coursework, college orientation and/or career development ensuring students grasp complex subjects.
- Mentor students in adopting effective college success behaviors such as time management and goal setting.
- Assist students in navigating the challenges of postsecondary education.
- Utilize TutorBird, our progress-tracking tool, to monitor and record student development.
- Record progress on student growth through the student success tracker.
- Provide weekly grade updates, holding students accountable and fostering growth.
- Complete weekly reports in accordance with state guidelines.
Your schedule will vary, and support is available Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 6 PM.
