What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Educational Technology position at Northbridge Public Schools?
Job Summary:
The Director of Technology will be responsible for the technical, administrative, and educational technology functions for the school district. He/she will provide leadership in technology throughout the school district operations in the areas of instruction, management, and integration. He/she will lead the development and implementation of technology initiatives for the district including the development, coordination, articulation, implementation, assessment, and oversight of the educational technology and computer education curricula PreK-12.
The Director will oversee the technology support team and instructional technology team. Therefore, the Director must have current knowledge of computers and other information technologies, networks, infrastructures, computer applications, instructional software, an in-depth understanding of curriculum development, knowledge of content area curricula and standards, and direct knowledge of teaching and instruction PreK-12.
Responsibilities:
•Work with the technology support team and instructional technology staff to maintain, oversee, and expand the technology infrastructure, including the network infrastructure, hardware and software licensing to support connectivity for students, faculty and staff for computing resources and applications provided by the network including file and application servers, security, backup and recovery, and planning and testing
•Lead the development and implementation of a coordinated K-12 technology integration plan and encourage interdisciplinary curriculum opportunities using technology
•Perform all necessary E-rate functions on behalf of the District
•Supervise and coordinate the organization of the system-wide inventory of technology assets.
•Recommend and oversee all the technological needs which include systems architecture, infrastructure, and hardware and software
•Work with administrators, department heads, technology support team, the instructional technology specialist, and teachers in the selection of appropriate software and hardware
•Oversee the development and deployment of the technology budget
•Review and approve all technology-related purchases
•Manage ongoing vendor relationships and oversee technical support
•Oversee website maintenance and management
•Work with the Director of Curriculum to coordinate professional development and training efforts in technology
•Prepare and deliver presentations to School Committee, parents, and staff as requested by the Superintendent
•Develop and update annual goals and timeline for the technology plan and develops technology related policies
•Conduct annual reviews of Empowered Use Policy and ensure effective implementation by all staff

Salary : $98,000 - $104,000
