Description
Join our amazing team as an Athletics Instructor. This position is responsible for teaching assigned classes in a designated program area within established program guidelines while providing the proper guidance and support for each participant. Class instruction may vary based on the level of expertise of students/attendees and the age range of students/attendees. May instruct classes for children through adult age. Demonstrates commitment to the Mission, Vision and Guiding Principles of the District.

Pay & Schedule:
$18.00 - $30.00 Per Hour, depending on experience and qualifications
This is a part-time, non-exempt position.
Hours may range from daytime, evening and/or weekend and are based on applicant and Park District facility availability. Expected 1-3 hours per week with possibility for more based on availability.
Duties & Responsibilities:

Develop and implement lessons supporting the established program curriculum.

Actively engages all students and provides them with support and constructive feedback.

Tracks attendance and documents student progress when required.

Arrives before class starts to inspect the instruction space, set up equipment and supplies if needed and greet students.

Regularly updates the Recreation Supervisor on the teaching space and equipment condition.

Diligently follows and adheres to all safety policies and procedures.

Collaborates with internal and external customers in a positive manner.

Follows safe work practices.

Attends trainings and meetings as required.

Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Must be 16 years of age or older. Training and experience in the subject area provided the following knowledge, ability and skills.

Teach through demonstration of the subject matter being taught

Can work independently and efficiently

Communicate effectively both orally and in writing

Work with co-workers and the public in a professional manner during stressful situations

Become CPR/AED Certified
Knowledge

Thorough knowledge of the subject material being taught

Hands-on experience working with children
