Description
Responsible for serving as the clinical director for counseling services
Examples of Duties
Serve as the clinical director for counseling services. Duties include but are not limited to coordinating of counseling process and associated workflow, provide oversight of a wait list for counseling services, ensures quality control regarding counseling services and programmatic needs, assessment and reporting of trends / outcomes from counseling services, identifies and defines system issues, and develops and implements effective solutions, works with
onboarding, training, and overseeing of electronic medical record system,
assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to
respond to current and future trends / needs, creates and updates policy and
procedures for counseling services including training of new staff.Assists the Director in duties of running Counseling & Wellness Center, which may include but are not limited to : tracking and reporting of center activities, developing and coordinating center programs, attending meetings on behalf of the Director, and performing duties in the absence of the DirectorProvide individual therapy, group therapy, assessment and referral services, crisis intervention, and psychological consultation, evaluation and support services to currently enrolled students along with other College community members. Maintain current license, practice in accordance with Florida licensure. Maintain current knowledge on topics relevant to work as a mental health professional in a higher education setting
Provide outreach programming and workshops on a variety of developmental, preventative, and / or psychological topics. This programming may incur some evening and weekend participation on campus.
Provide consultative services to university administrators, faculty, staff, campus organizations and parents.
May initiate and authorize involuntary examination (Baker Act) procedures in accordance with statute 394.463, Florida Mental Health ActMay serve as designated liaison with specific units on campus as determined by the Director
Serve on college committees and be active in regional, state, and national professional organizations. Engage in continuing education and professional development activities
May provide training and clinical supervision for center non-licensed staff in accordance with ethical guidelines, state laws, and Counseling and Wellness (CWC) policies and procedures
May conduct psychological assessment, administer and interpret a variety of psychological assessment inventories, and prepare reportsMaintains accurate and appropriate records on clinical workOther duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
A Doctorate in psychology from an accredited college or university, which
includes one year of supervised experience in professional psychology in an
internship and one year of postdoctoral experience in either a hospital or
college / university counseling center or licensed as a social work professional.
Active / clear license as a psychologist by the State of Florida in accordance with
Chapter 490, F.S. or a Masters in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling from an accredited
college or university, which includes one year of supervised experience in
professional counseling in an internship or licensure as a Licensed Clinical
Social Worker (LCWS) or as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) by
the State of Florida in accordance with Chapter 490, F.S.
Preferred Qualifications
Five years cumulative experience at a university / college counseling center after
an accredited internship is preferred. Three years of administrative experience
working with electronic medical record systems, reporting statistics on usage
and outcome data. Experience in coordination and oversight of counseling
service delivery models.
