Work-study or student positions are specifically intended for students, so if you are not a student with 6 or more credits in a semester you are not eligible to apply for the positions. To be eligible for a work-study position, you must be a recipient of work-study through Financial Aid.

Job Summary
This is a paid position through work-study or student employment and allows students to grow in leadership, professional and soft skills. At the Wausau campus Student Life is a social hub on campus helping students become career, transfer, and life ready. In the Den and Student Leadership Center students and visitors hang out, play games, study, access career / transfer services, and more. Positions in these areas are paid an hourly rate of $14.00.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Greet students / visitors
- Create student IDs
- Checkout gaming and simulation equipment / materials
- Assist with events and activities
- Answer phones and make calls, data entry
- Collate materials and stuff envelopes for mailings, prepare folders of information, distribute graduation materials
- Sort and stock non-perishable food in the food pantry, and light cleaning and organization.
Students with a graphic design interest / background may also assist design print and electronic materials including posters, TV screens, brochures, handouts, and invitations.
We offer hours typically Monday through Thursday from 7 : 30 a.m. to 9 : 00 p.m., Fridays 7 : 30 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m., and Saturdays 9 : 00 a.m.-12 : 00 p.m. Positions in Student Life will report to Coordinator, Student Development.
NOTE :
It is in your best interest to apply for more than one position, in the event other candidates are already being considered for this position, you want to leave your options open for other positions. Student and Federal Work-Study employees may work up to 20 hours per week total.
You will need to re-apply at the beginning of each semester for work-study / student positions due to any school or work-study changes that may have occurred changing your status. Each semester, the applications for each position will be refreshed with new applications of those who re-apply to keep the applicant pool current for supervisors.
