Job Description :
- Administer nursing care under the direction of a registered nurse, licensed physician, dentist, podiatrist, optometrist, or chiropractor. Duties include administering oxygen, applying sterile dressings, inserting catheters, and providing medication instructions.
- Maintain medication accountability records, prepare and count medication, and ensure the availability of medical supplies and equipment.
- Observe, document, and report patient conditions, including medication reactions, treatment responses, and patient behavior.
- Provide direct care, including taking vital signs, assisting with personal grooming and hygiene, and repositioning patients.
- Assist patients with recreational activities and create medical appointments.
- Offer work direction, orientation, and training to lower-level direct care staff, such as hospital aides and orderlies.
- Order medication and medical supplies and maintain a clean and organized nurse's station and medication room.
- Attend various meetings, including staff conferences and interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Operate medical equipment proficiently and administer injections and other medical treatments as required.
- Demonstrate the ability to recognize unusual or threatening conditions and take appropriate emergency action.
