This position is in a Salary Grade PM4, with a starting salary $51,264 per annum. The successful candidate’s salary will be calculated based on education and experience within the grade range.

General Description
The purpose of this position is to provide academic accommodations for students with learning, psychological, physical and/or cognitive disabilities. This is accomplished by engaging in an interactive process with students to determine accessibility needs and accommodations, orienting students to use adaptive technology, referring students to campus and community resources, educating students on the use of technological support, and accessing supportive websites. Other duties include providing coaching and student support as needed, preparing letters of accommodation to present to faculty, and assisting with workshops, presentations, and information sessions. This position requires a physical presence on the Norfolk campus and occasional presence on extended campuses.
Qualifications: Education
Bachelor’s Degree required in counseling, psychology, education or closely related field.
Qualification:Experience
Requires a minimum of one year experience in the field of education, social work or any other related field. Experience with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
Qualification:Skills
Knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Requires strong communication, problem-solving, leadership, organizational and technology skills, and the ability to work successfully with students. Must have proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office programs.
