Nature of Work
Coordinates activities surrounding the tutoring of students; including hiring, coaching and monitoring tutors. Coordinates all services ensuring compliance with ADA and provides leadership and consultation in promoting access and equity for persons with disabilities. Provides probationary advising services.
Examples of Work Performed
1. Coordinate disability accommodation services.
a. Facilitate the intake process, serving as the designated contact for students seeking services, provide relevant information in the form of presentations via student/parent/guardian meetings or with prospective students during scheduled meeting or walk-in appointments.
b. Facilitate the provisions of ongoing services to students with disabilities, including communication with faculty, professional services, provision testing locations, proctored exams, and adaptive technology.
c. Develop educational support plans for students with disabilities, using best practices to provide accommodations for students, and maintain appropriate documentation for support plans.
d. Work with faculty/staff who have questions regarding the accommodation process, and seek effective solutions to the student needs and challenges that arise.
e. Participate in developing improvements to the procedures and protocols used to deliver disability services.
f. Develop a rapport with students while serving as an advocate and mentor, and assisting them with their responsibilities in the accommodation process.
g. Collaborate with Facilities to maintain campus physical accessibility to identify and eliminate attitudinal, behavioral, and physical obstacles for students.
h. Maintain adaptive equipment for students to ensure their needs are being met.
i. Advertise, provide educational programming, serve on committees, and disseminate other forms. of information to ensure faculty/staff and students are informed about disability services.
j. Assist students in applying for accommodations on standardized exams. (CORE).
2. Advise students with disabilities toward their academic goals.
a. Provide coaching for students to assist with identifying academic goals, develop strategies to reach goals, identify barriers, and refer students to the appropriate campus resources.
3. Coordinate testing accommodations for students.
a. Hire, train, and supervise proctors.
b. Develop, implement, and supervise testing protocols and procedures.
c. Be the primary communicator with faculty and students regarding testing questions, needs, or concerns.
4. Serve as the Title IX Coordinator designee, as needed.
5. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of ADA compliance laws, best practices in higher education learning assistance programming, and theory associated with intrusive academic advising.
Familiarity with tutorial strategies, ability to provide programmatic leadership, and proficiency in verbal and written communication are required.
The skills required for this position include, but are not limited to, excellent interpersonal skills and proficiency in the application of developmental theory to the college experience as well as ability to maintain confidentiality.
A master’s degree in counseling or education and experience working with tutorial and/or disability service programs are preferred.
Two years of related experience.
Ability to develop a rapport with students that encourages discussion of their academic status.
Familiarity with tutorial strategies, ability to provide programmatic leadership, and proficiency in verbal and written communication are required.

Salary Information
Competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Attractive and comprehensive fringe benefit package. Annual salary range is $51,798-$64,747.
