Furniture Sales Associate

We’re looking for a high-energy Retail Sales Associate who shares our enthusiasm for delivering top-notch service and building lasting customer relationships.

Objective:

The Furniture Salesperson will serve as the primary point of contact for customers in the showroom. This individual must present a positive and professional image of the store while leveraging their knowledge of the product line to guide customers in making informed purchasing decisions.

Sales & Customer Service

• Maximize company sales growth and profitability through creative selling, teamwork, and exceptional customer service.
• Deliver an engaging and welcoming experience to every customer.
• Greet customers as they enter the store and assess their needs.
• Provide knowledgeable recommendations on furniture and related products.
• Promote additional items by conducting suggestive selling and showroom tours.
• Answer customer inquiries and resolve any concerns during their visit.

Transaction Management

• Process sales transactions, including completing necessary paperwork and arranging financing when applicable.
• Support sales staff by managing open records and assisting in closing the 90-day open orders report.
• Facilitate customer refunds and finalize sales orders.

Product Expertise

• Develop in-depth knowledge of the store’s vendors, products, and services.
• Use product expertise to provide creative furnishing solutions tailored to customer preferences.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Previous retail and commissioned sales experience is preferred.
• Ability to build and maintain a client base while delivering personalized solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Effective time management and organizational abilities.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and a varied schedule as needed.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1-2 years of experience in customer service and/or sales.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will primarily be in the warehouse/showroom area.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee must stand, walk, squat, kneel, or bend throughout the office and facility. Will frequently be required to stand, handle, or grip equipment, and reach outwards. The employee must be able to lift/move/push/or pull up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
