Summary:
This position will work remotely most of the time. The Community Outreach and Coalition Coordinator works to raise awareness and educate the general public about the programs and services of ElderSource, and connect people in the broader community to the agency’s mission. This position is responsible for researching and participating in community outreach activities that position ElderSource as a vibrant community resource and partner.
Additionally, this position is responsible for planning, implementing, evaluating and general oversight of activities associated with the Caregiver Coalition of Northeast Florida. This includes work to develop and implement events and strategies that will lead to long-term involvement of community institutions, organizations and individuals in Coalition activities.
Key Aspects of the Position: This individual must reside in one of the seven counties covered by ElderSource - Baker, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Nassau, St. Johns or Volusia - in order to research, schedule and attend outreach meetings. Strong oral and written communication skills and meeting facilitation skills are required.

- Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
- Community Outreach
- Research, participate and maintain a calendar of outreach events, workshops, appearances throughout the seven county service area.
- Cultivate relationships with individuals, organizations and facilities that are mission-related such as other nonprofit organizations, libraries, senior centers, healthcare organizations, doctors, social workers in hospitals, etc. where ElderSource information and resources can be distributed, presented and shared.
- Develop and deliver presentations on agency programs and initiatives.
- Work with the Communications Department Team to develop and maintain a collection of outreach materials.
- Create and maintain a database of outreach contacts that include, but not limited to churches, senior centers, and civic organizations.
- Create a quarterly report of outreach activities.
- Attend community events and presentations on evenings and weekends, as needed.
- Caregiver Coalition
- Plan, coordinate, and conduct educational and training activities. Seek sponsors and exhibitors for Coalition events.
- Continually maintain and develop content for the Coalition website and newsletter.
- Plan and coordinate quarterly Coalition member gatherings for networking and learning opportunities.
- Collaborate and work closely with members and others in the community to promote Coalition’s mission and goals.
- Work with team members to meet program goals.
- Continually broaden expertise in the area of caregiving and serve as resource person.
- Conduct literature/resource reviews to identify best practices for Coalition.
- Represent Coalition through professional associations locally, statewide and nationally.
- Recruit and maintain a diverse Coalition membership.
- Assist Coalition members in conducting annual strategic planning and guide Coalition to develop a comprehensive action plan based on needs-assessment and strategic planning.
- Develop and implement data collection methods, tools, and evaluation measures for Coalition activities and associated projects in conjunction with Coalition members.
- Coordinate and facilitate Coalition meetings and communicate effectively with members to promote collaboration, negotiation, and problem solving.
- Develop marketing and media materials, campaigns, and opportunities in conjunction with the Coalition members and ElderSource Communications staff.
- Continuously evaluate Coalition effectiveness and Coalition strategic plan.
- Manage and oversee expenditures of Coalition budget (or contracts).
- Report and present Coalition progress and program findings.
A. Vice President of Communications:
- Ensure effective management and communications of projects to supervisor, Communications Department team members and to Coalition members.
- Hold the Coalition members accountable for their performance and the achievement of Coalition goals.

IV. Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree and six months of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required. Preferred education to be in communications, public relations, business or marketing. Must be tech savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe. Must have excellent communication, training, and presentation skills.

Pre-employment background check and drug screen will be conducted on top candidate. It is mandatory that a candidate be able to pass a Level II criminal background check through the Department of Elder Affairs prior to starting work.
Salary: $42,000.00/year
