Requires Teacher and/or coach who holds a Nebraska Department of Education Teacher or Administrative Certificate or a Nebraska Department of Education Special Services Coaching Permit. If one does not have a teaching certificate or the special services coaching permit, obtaining the coaching permit will be requried prior to taking the role.
Certified teacher and/or coach that is responsible for the instruction of baseball skills and techniques, team systems and strategies; responsible for providing a safe and competitive environment; developing safe and properly planned and supervised practices and contests; provides leadership for the overall program; is energetic, a good communicator and able to build relationships with student-athletes.
Responsible for inspecting and maintaining the inventory and equipment; reporting contest results; and must know, implement, and enforce national, state, and local athletic policies. Additional responsibilities would include evaluation of assistant coaches, ordering equipment, and organization of the entire baseball program.
This position will also require certification in three areas of the NFHSLearn program: Concussion Awareness, Heat Illness, and Sudden Cardiac Arrest. CPR is also required. These course can be completed after being hired.
This position is subject to a veterans preference.
