Facilities & Maintenance Coordinator
NILP is a rapidly growing human service agency that assists persons with all types of disabilities who wish to live independently in their community throughout Northeast Massachusetts. NILP provides five core services: Advocacy, Peer Counseling, Information and Referral, Independent Living Skills Training, and Transition. NILP believes in consumer control and self-direction and provides these services with the knowledge that persons with disabilities are the best determinants of their needs and goals.
The Facilities & Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for keeping the building properly maintained, clean, and safe. We are seeking applicants who are team players, passionate about helping others, and willing to show a commitment to the Independent Living philosophy.
What you will be doing:
- Assist with the daily cleaning and maintenance responsibilities of the building.
- Perform routine repair work and other work of a general maintenance nature. This includes, for example, the Sprinkler System, HVAC, lift-equipped vehicles, etc.
- Evaluates maintenance requests, set priorities and process work assignments.
- Coordinate maintenance work to maintain NILP facilities, equipment, and grounds properly.
- Establishes and maintains a reliable network of outside vendors and suppliers to ensure cost-effective and timely support of the maintenance function.
- Assists in sourcing contractors or subcontractors to perform maintenance work that is too specialized or extensive to be performed by the maintenance staff.
- Ability to assemble, move, and install small office/home furniture.
- Serve as a backup driver to assist with transportation needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Who we are looking for:
- Candidate with a High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Five (5) years of facilities maintenance experience and more than 1 year of driving experience.
- Must have a valid Massachusetts Class D Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
- Must meet background check requirements, including a CORI and driving record.
- Must have and maintain C.P.R. certification (Company will train).
- Preference will be given to persons living with a disability or with significant personal experience with a disability.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions and work efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexibility- occasional night and weekend work may be required.
