Summary of Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for performing technical and administrative functions for the daily operation of the Microbiology Food Lab.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Performs routine and some specialized bench procedures as required.
· Enters analytical result data into laboratory information management system.
· Serves as technical resource for clients.
· Consults with team members to determine and prioritize daily workload.
· Assists in the development of new analytical procedures.
· Assists in writing standard operating procedures.
· Performs additional duties as required.
· Performs all duties in accordance with established safety guidelines.
· Must be willing to work on Holidays.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands:
· Able to stand for long periods of time.
· Ability to lift 35 pounds.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology or a closely related science.
Experience: Two or more years closely-related lab experience preferred.
Alternate: Associate’s degree in Microbiology or a closely related science or four or more years closely related lab experience.
Other: Ability to organize and communicate effectively with clients and co-workers.
Ability to travel as necessary, including occasional overnight travel.
Strong math, communication, organization and computer skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
