SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervises the day-to-day operations of Crisis Response and Stabilization (CRS) Team including crisis walk-in and outpatient therapy. Monitor fidelity of evidence based practices and provide clinical training based on program needs. Arrange scheduling of staff for CRS primary team and CRS back-up daytime coverage. Chair CRS staff meetings and provide clinical supervision to assigned staff and contractors. Work with Compliance Officer and actively participates in the Utilization Management Committee. Attend and participate in agency staff supervisor meetings. Manage resources, interpret persons’ served insurance benefits, act as a referral agent to service providers. Review of Performance Indicators and will perform clinical case record reviews. Provides psychiatric emergency services including: triage, crisis intervention and stabilization, referral and/or short term brief therapy for all persons served of mental health services (adult and children). Will be able to correctly triage, assess and report to agency psychiatrist and other team members the persons served mental health status and planned course of action with regard to Person Centered Planning. As needed, develop and complete person centered planning with children, adolescents and adults requesting services from the Agency. Such assessments will include obtaining and documenting all necessary information as mandated by the Case Recording Guidelines. Participates as an active member of the Children's Diagnostic and Treatment Team. Required to maintain highest degree of licensure or state registrations specific to the position.

Rate of Pay: $71,510-$98,779

FLSA: Exempt/Full Time

Reports To: Director of Clinical and Support Services

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Masters Degree in Social Work from a recognized or accredited institution. Must possess state registration as a Licensed Master Social Worker. Required to maintain highest degree of licensure or state registrations specific to the position.

Experience: One or more years of relevant mental health experience and clinical supervision. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Functional computer literacy is required. Lived experience with mental illness, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and/or substance use disorders valued.

Other: Must have Michigan driver's license and a satisfactory driving record as determined by the agency. Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) valued.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide direct supervision to outpatient therapists and Michigan Child Care Collaborative (MC3) Behavioral Health Consultant.
  • Will demonstrated knowledge of interventions and treatment of complex care needs for individuals with medical and behavioral challenges to include co-occurring substance use, including the effects of substances and interactions with psychotropic medications.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and practice to include the education and supervision of agency staff regarding Board operated services.
  • Demonstrate an ability to anticipate and prevent or de-escalate crisis situations.
  • Will demonstrate knowledge of the legal, regulatory and administrative requirements governing the provision of specialized behavioral health services according to the Medicaid Manual and the Mental Health Code.
  • Will demonstrate knowledge of protocols for eligibility criteria and the practice of Evidenced Base Practices’ to include Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Integrated Dual Disordered Treatment and other appropriate behavioral health treatments.
  • Will demonstrate an ability to work successfully with families and significant others of people with an intellectual and/or developmental disability or mental illness and those persons with a co-occurring substance use disorder.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the physical, social, emotional and spiritual aspects of each person served.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of universal precautions, standards of practice including confidentiality and recipient rights and emergency protocol as it relates to the Board.
  • Demonstrate effective case recording in accordance with Person Centered Planning and keep current on Case Recording Guidelines established by the Agency.
  • Demonstrate accurate assessment and diagnosis for persons requesting mental health services in accordance to the most current edition of the DSM and ICD.
  • Demonstrate effective supervision and evaluation of assigned staff.
  • Responsible for adhering to budgetary guidelines relating to the program.
  • Will demonstrate functional computer literacy in all agency documentation.
  • Participates in afterhours ESU supervision rotation.

NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • May be requested to be involved in the Board’s continuous quality improvement program.
  • May be required to provide own transportation while performing agency-related duties.
  • Prepare various reports related to duties as required.
