What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Receptionist/Front Desk position at Northeast Ohio Eye Surgeons?
Greet patients as they arrive and leave our clinic in a friendly manner. The Front Desk/Receptionist is responsible for greeting patients in a professional manner; updating and verifying patient information, including obtaining patient ID/insurance information, processing copayments, and registering patients in the billing system; maintaining a smooth flow of communication between patient, provider, and clinical staff; handling scheduling inquiries; and providing other assistance as needed.
Schedule:
Must be able to travel between Medina and Wadsworth locations
Monday-Friday 7:30 am-5:00 pm.
Ability to work Tuesday & Wednesday evenings, until 7:00 pm as needed
This is a temp to hire position- Seeking 6m with potiental to come on permanant based on office need
What you will be doing
- Greet patients when they arrive to check-in and assist patients when checking out for appointments in a consistently friendly manner
- Answering phones to assist patients and other doctors’ offices with scheduling appointments, answering office questions, and triaging calls to appropriate departments
- Schedule appointments in our practice management system
- Ensuring patients complete necessary paperwork and consent forms
- Collecting co-pays and balances
- Updating insurance or demographic information when changes in occur
- Assisting with back-office tasks as necessary such as scanning, insurance verification, recall, confirmation calls, rescheduling appointments, and error corrections
- Miscellaneous office duties within department as required
What you know
Required
- Attention to detail
- Patient and friendly demeanor is a MUST
- At least 1 year working in a medical office setting is required
- High working knowledge of computers
- Familiarity with medical insurances and insurance benefits
Desired
- 2 years working as a medical receptionist
- Experience working with Allscripts and/or Nextech
- Experience working in ophthalmology
