Colorist/Color Consultant
Job Summary:
Northeast Pro Painting is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Colorist to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate with homeowners, design firms, and builders to explore and select color options for upcoming painting projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of color theory, have a passion for the arts, and exude a bubbly personality that helps them connect with clients and collaborate with teams.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Client Consultation:
- Meet with homeowners, design firms, and builders to understand their vision and color preferences for projects.
- Provide expert advice and suggestions on color combinations, finishes, and the overall aesthetic.
2. Color Selection:
- Present a variety of color options and palettes tailored to each client’s preferences and project requirements.
- Assist clients in visualizing color choices and their application through mock-ups and samples.
3. Collaboration:
- Work closely with designers and builders to ensure that color selections complement the overall design and style of the project.
- Maintain clear communication with all stakeholders throughout the color selection process.
4. Market Trends:
- Stay updated on current design and color trends in the industry to provide relevant suggestions and insights to clients.
- Gather and curate inspirational materials and color samples for clients and internal use.
5. Documentation:
- Maintain organized records of client consultations, color selections, and project requirements using provided technology (iPad with wireless connectivity).
- Share design ideas and updates with project managers and team members as necessary.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Background in art, design, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong understanding of color theory, color language, and aesthetic principles.
Personal Attributes:
- Energetic, bubbly personality with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Confidence in presenting ideas and making recommendations to clients.
Technical Skills:
- Good computer knowledge (experience with design software is a plus).
- Comfortable using an iPad and wireless connectivity for communication and documentation.
Requirements:
- Must have a reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license for travel to client meetings and job sites.
Compensation:
- Competitive salary based on experience and skills, with potential for bonuses based on project success.
Work Schedule:
- Flexibility in scheduling, with occasional evenings or weekends as necessary to accommodate client meetings.
