SUMMARY
Monitors, researches and trends data utilized to make corporate decisions. Responsible for reviewing and recording general ledger transactions relative to specific areas. Assists auditors with the year end audit by providing accurate information pertaining to assigned areas of analysis. Ensures compliance with all relative policies and procedures. May oversee/supervise a staff of one to eight associates (exempt and/or hourly).
Position can be located in either Schenectady or Buffalo, NY office
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for reconciling all assigned accounts and maintaining complete records of activity for the respective accounts on a period and fiscal yearend basis.
- Review and perform general ledger analyses on various balance sheet and income statement accounts identifying applicable fluctuations year over year and versus budget.
- Responsible for assisting with the preparation of annual profit plan and budgets for specified areas related to their department.
- Assists auditors with the yearend audit by providing audit schedules for all assigned areas and accounts, as well as updating internal control narratives.
- Independently resolves most questions and problems, referring only complex issues to higher management level.
- Manages and provides direction to staff for completion of daily, period-end, and fiscal year-end tasks.
- Ability to learn variety of internal systems – Mainframe, Unix, and Cognos applications.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management and adhere to all company policies and procedures.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Four-year Accounting Degree or Certificate of Accountancy required
- Strong report writing skills – Monarch, Dylakor, Crystal
- Proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Salary : $60,405 - $84,129
