Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care within our medical office, assisting ophthalmologists in various clinical tasks. This position requires strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology, as well as familiarity with medical office procedures, including HIPAA compliance.
Duties
- Assist ophthalmologists during patient examinations and procedures.
- Conduct preliminary tests, including measuring visual acuity and taking vital signs.
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and answering questions.
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform diagnostic tests using optical equipment and ensure proper functioning of devices.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinical area.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to the eye and visual systems preferred.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate record keeping.
Clinic hours:
Monday-Thursday 7:45am-5pm
Friday 7:45am-noon
