What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recovery Specialist position at Northeastern Center Inc?
The Recovery Specialist position will offer guidance and support to individuals seeking or in recovery from substance use disorders and/or mental health needs. The Recovery Specialist is willing to use and share his or her personal, practical experience, knowledge, and first-hand insight to benefit the team and its clients. As a full integrated team member, the Recovery Specialist will provide expertise about the recovery process, symptom management, and the persistence required by clients to have a satisfying life. He or she will collaborate to promote a team culture that recognizes, understands, and respects each client’s point of view, experiences, and preferences. The Recovery Specialist will be responsible to maximize client choice, self-determination and decision-making in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of treatment, rehabilitation and support services. Other activities will include: peer counseling and consultation to individual clients, families, and team staff; acting as a liaison with community resources; carrying out case management, rehabilitation, and support functions; and assisting in treatment, substance abuse services, education, support and consultation to families, and crisis intervention under the clinical supervision of staff with professional degrees.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: An individual living in recovery with a mental health and/or substance use condition, or a family member of another person living with a mental health and/or substance use condition.
Licenses: Must possess a valid state issued driver's license.
Certification: Must be a Certified Recovery Specialist or able to pursue required certification
Night Shift, 7pm to 7am- Monday thru Friday, every other weekend.
Salary based on experience.
