Position Announcement: NJC Grant Director
Northeastern Junior College is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to serve as the Northeastern Junior College Grant Director. The Grant Director is responsible for the successful pursuit, award and execution of grants awarded to the college. The Grant Director will assist in the near-term development of a grant handbook for the college that will be used in the grant writing and execution process. They will support NJC staff seeking grant opportunities and may be asked to write some grants not requiring specific departmental expertise. The Grant Director assists in planning and budget development related to grant applications; serves as a resource to grant managers/primary investigators after grants are received; and monitors the execution of the grants in accordance with the terms associated with those grants. The Grant Director also compiles and submits reporting information as required by certain grants.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be:
- Oversees the execution of awarded grants by monitoring the grant managers/primary investigators to ensure compliance with grant terms and timelines.
- Prepares necessary reports for submission as required by certain grants.
- Writes grants or assists staff in writing grants. Coordinates and facilitates the preparation of grant requests and the subsequent submission of the grant applications.
- Research potential grant opportunities that align with the strategic vision of the college, and facilitate discussions and planning with other NJC personnel.
- Assists primary investigators/grant managers in the development of budgets and budget narratives for grant applications, assesses the availability of matching or in-kind funds, and provides compliance with grant guidelines.
- Maintains and follows a calendar with submission and report dates, along with electronic files containing grants, contracts, reports, and other significant information.
- Monitors financial activity and submits billing, as applicable, with grant managers.
- Monitors grant execution and projects the feasibility of full grant execution for grant managers and college leadership. Ensures grant managers and in compliance with regulations and audit requirements.
- Maintains the grant handbook and conducts routine training for faculty and staff, and grant managers.
- Performs all other relevant duties as assigned.
What You Will Need:
- Strong communications, including precise writing skills and verbal communications.
- Highly organized, able to manage multiple grants simultaneously.
- Knowledge and experience with MS Office products (Word and Excel) required. Must be able to build spreadsheets using formulas.
- Self-starter, willing to do independent research to find grant opportunities and present to departments and college leadership.
- Detail oriented necessary for the accounting of grant funds, and projections into future years
What We Require:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in an appropriate field (English, Communications, Non-profit fund-raising, grant writing, technical writing, financial management, accounting, etc.)
- Valid driver's license
What We Can Offer:
This is a 0.9 FTE position. Annual salary is $48,000-$52,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
