About the Opportunity
JOB SUMMARY
The Global Resilience Institute at Northeastern University (GRI) seeks a dynamic and experienced Business Manager to support a new DoD research funding initiative as well its overall institute mission in the metro-Boston area, nationally, and internationally.
The Business Manager is charged with ensuring the compliance and effective administrative operations for the financial, human resources, and general administrative function of the institute under direction of the Director of Finance and Administration. He / She will direct and coordinate the business operations for the institute in relation to students, faculty, staff, advisory board, alumni, vendors, research projects and donors.
This position oversees day-to-day financial operations, supports Research and HR transactions, and serves as a subject matter expert for business processes, policies, and systems.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Deep knowledge of budget management and administration. Knowledge and understanding of university policies and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills including Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook); Banner; Cognos.
- Knowledge and skills are typically acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree and five or more years of administrative experience.
- Experience in an academic or research setting and Master's degree or higher is preferred.

This is a fixed term appointment, with the possibility of renewal based off of continuing external funding
