Role Summary
The Research Technician will engage in basic research functions, and facility and equipment maintenance while supporting the larger operations team in completing studies in a safe, efficient, and accurate manner.
This is a non-exempt position that is eligible for overtime after 40 hours in a workweek and has no supervisory responsibility.
Role Responsibilities
- Assist with restraint, handling, and manipulation of animal species.
- Perform animal observations to monitor and assess animal health and monitor the study.
- Collect and record data on paper and / or in an electronic laboratory information management system (LIMS) in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Introduction to data review for GLP compliance.
- Sample collection including, but not limited to, non-sterile scrub of collection sites, blood draws, and urine collections.
- Drug administration including, but not limited to, eye drops, tablets, subcutaneous injections, intramuscular injections, and drug calculations.
- Basic anesthesia monitoring including intubation / extubation and use of animal warming systems.
- May serve as a secondary Point Technician on a study.
- May assist with animal husbandry, including but not limited to cleaning, feeding, watering and enrichment as needed.
- Perform other training or duties as assigned.
