Position Overview :
The Assistant Social Services Director plays a vital role in advocating for residents’ social and emotional well-being. Under the supervision of the Social Services Director, this individual will help develop, implement, and oversee programs that enhance residents' quality of life while ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities :
Assist in developing individualized social assessments and care plans, addressing residents’ emotional and social needs.
Actively participate in pre-admission and admission processes to support residents and families during transitions.
Provide compassionate guidance to residents and their families, offering support during times of adjustment, crisis, or special needs.
Document residents’ behavioral and psychosocial status while maintaining accurate records.
Establish and oversee volunteer programs designed to enhance social services.
Assist in orienting residents and families to the facility, fostering a welcoming and supportive environment.
Qualifications :
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related field from an accredited institution.
Experience & Knowledge :
Understanding of social work principles, long-term care regulations, and best practices.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff.
