Northern Energy Services – Ice Road Drivers and Operators– North Slope
General Description
NES is hiring seasonal Truck Drivers and Operators on the North Slope of Alaska working in Kuparuk and Western North Slope.
Truck Drivers are primarily responsible for operating Water Trucks, Maxi Hauls and Tractor Trailers. Operators are responsible for operating Loaders, Graders, Rock Trucks, Snow Blowers and Trimmers. Other duties may be assigned as required. Driving will be primarily on ice roads with minimal time on gravel roads.
Truck Drivers must have knowledge of and experience with hauling gravel, snow, water or other materials. Operators must have knowledge and experience operating their respective type of equipment.
This position is on the North Slope of Alaska which is an Arctic Environment. Work rotation is generally 6 to 8 weeks to start with potential three or for week rotations available after.
Essential Duties and Job Requirements
· Operate trucks and equipment for north slope ice road construction.
· Perform other duties as required
· Comply with company and customer policies and procedures.
· Monitor equipment operation and identify malfunctions.
· Report all incidents involving injuries, spills, equipment malfunction or damage to the supervisor.
· Support zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
Minimum Experience
· High School Diploma or GED
· One year of trucking or operating experience including
· Arctic oilfield experience is preferred.
· Experience with front end loaders, dozers, vac trucks, super suckers and other oilfield equipment is preferred.
Job Requirements
· Class A CDL
· North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification
· Current DOT Medical Card
· Complete or maintain Red Book Transporter Training
