Sales Representative – Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota (Full-Time)
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Sales Representative to join our wholesale nursery sales team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the horticulture industry, a proven track record in sales, and the ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships. This role involves selling our product line, identifying new business opportunities, and providing exceptional service to our clients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of the role pertain to the following aspects of wholesale nursery and Christmas tree sales including but not limited to:
· Customer Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, while actively seeking out new clients in the retail and landscaping sectors.
· Product Knowledge: Develop a thorough understanding of our plant offerings and horticultural products to effectively communicate benefits and features to clients.
· Sales Strategy: Implement sales strategies to meet or exceed monthly and annual sales targets.
· Market Research: Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to inform sales approaches and product offerings.
· Order Management: Process orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
· Collaboration: Work closely with the production and marketing teams to align on product availability and promotional activities.
· Trade Shows and Events: Represent the company at industry events and trade shows to network and promote our products.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in business, horticulture, or a related field preferred.
· Previous sales experience, preferably in the horticultural or wholesale industry.
· Strong knowledge of plants, landscaping, and gardening practices.
· Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
· Self-motivated with a results-oriented approach.
· Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
· Valid driver’s license.
· Ability to travel for client meetings and industry events as needed.
